WIT Announces Finalists for 2017 Influential Women In Trucking Award

Following the nomination period for the 2017’s Influential Woman in Trucking Award, the Women In Trucking Association alongside Freightliner Truckers has announced three finalists from across the industry.


Woman In Trucking (WIT) reports that the three finalists for the 2017 award are Traci Crane, Senior Manager, Fleet Services at Contract Freighters, Inc, Tana Greene, CEO and Founder at Blue Bloodhound and Daphne Jefferson, Deputy Administrator for U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Administration.

In the seventh year of awards, Women In Trucking and Freightliner report that the award committee has selected women from all parts of the trucking industry including corporate, driver, dealership, sales, owner-operator, and supplier roles.

According to WIT, Crane is the first woman in the company history at Fleet Services to hold a management position in the maintenance department.

WIT reports that Greene’s company Blue Bloodhound has previously been recognized by American Express as one of the top 50-fastest growing female-owned companies as well as receiving recognition for her company by INC Magazine as one of the top 5000 fastest growing companies in the nation.

Additionally, WIT reports that Jefferson assumed the position of the Agency’s Deputy Administrator in February 2015 following service as the Counselor to the Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Transportation in the Office of the Secretary.

The three finalists for the award have been asked to take part on a panel at the WIT Accelerate! Conference & Expo in Kansas City, MO held from November 6-8 of this year.

Following the panel, the winner of the 2017 award will be announced at the Accelerate! Conference & Expo during the general session panel discussion entitled, “4 Steps Women Take To Become Successful Business Leaders” on November 7, 2017.

According to WIT, the judges of the award had difficulty in selecting three finalists due to the high quality of submissions and eligible women.

WIT reports that the judges for the award consisted of WIT President and CEO, Ellen Voie, Talk show and radio host Meredith Ochs and 2016 Influential Woman in Trucking recipient Romana Hood, President of Customer Operations, Transportation Logistics at GENCO.
