Women In Trucking Accepting Nominations for 2017 Influential WIT Award

Gearing up for the its 8th year of honors, Women In Trucking Association and Freightliner Trucks announced earlier today that the organizations are currently seeking candidates for the 2017 Influential Woman In Trucking Award.

Established in 2010, the Influential Woman in Trucking Award honors women in the industry who have demonstrated influence and those who make key decisions in a corporate, manufacturing, sales, driving, or dealership settings among other areas of trucking.

According to WIT, the winner of the award must be a woman who has a proven record indicating responsibility as well as one who has mentored others or served as a role model for women within the trucking industry.

“The Influential Woman in Trucking Award recognizes female leaders who have been advocates and role models to others. Over the past seven years we have seen phenomenal women both nominated and recognized. We look forward to honoring the next influential woman in trucking and her success in the industry,” said, Women In Trucking President and CEO, Ellen Voie.

Kary Schaefer, general manager, marketing and strategy at Freightliner Trucks announces that in sponsoring the Woman In Trucking Award with WIT and granting the honor to a qualified individual in the industry finds the company in a proud position for yet another year.

WIT reports that previous recipients of the Influential Woman in Trucking award include Marcia Taylor, CEO of Bennett International Group, Joyce Brenny, President of Brenny Transportation and Ramona Hood, Vice President of Customer Operations.

According to WIT, nominations for this year’s award will be accepted through Friday, September 1 at the online ballot on the WIT site.
