The Military Friendly Company survey included other criteria in which to grade companies such as opportunities for career advancement and company hiring opportunities for veterans as well as charitable investment and customer service for these employees.

Averitt reports that it is a certified employer for the On-The-Job-Training Program that assists veterans in the transition from the military to the civilian workforce.

According to Averitt, veterans that participate in this program are those that qualify for the GI Bill and are hired as associates at Averitt who can receive additional GI Bill benefits.
