Earlier today, International Truck, Navistar’s premier vehicle brand, announced a grand opening for a new flagship Used Truck Center located in Melrose Park, Illinois.

International Truck reports that the move signals a location that will provide consumers with an engine testing facility, certified technicians, the Used Truck Reconditioning Center and truck sales in one spot.

“The Used Truck Center move provides an opportunity to create our most comprehensive used truck facility yet,” said Vice president, Used Truck Operations, Jeff Heichel. “On one side of the building, we will be selling our used trucks; and on the other, we have certified technicians working on reconditioning them. It creates a great environment that promotes sales and customer service.”

The announcement from International Truck sees a 4-block move of the current Used Truck Center to the same building as Navistar’s Plant in Melrose Park, utilizing unused land at the location.

According to International Truck, the move from a 2,500 sq. ft. location to a 5,500 sq. ft. area will drastically alter the company’s ability to accommodate customers as well as International Truck’s Sales Team.

Combined with the grounds that Navistar’s Melrose Plant sits on, the building has a total potential space of 206,000 sq. ft. in which the Used Truck Center and Plant may expand.

The grand opening of the Used Truck Center saw an open house earlier today at the center, with early afternoon activities.
