by Jana Ritter - Published: 7/12/2013

What does being a truck driver mean to you? Answer that question in one or two sentences and you could win $1500 in cash. Starting Monday, Rudolph Foods is opening their competition to truck drivers as a warm-up to National Truck Driver Appreciation (September 15th-21st), where the winner will be announced.

Driver appreciation

Beginning July 15th and running through Sept. 1, the company is asking via its Facebook page as well as its website for truck drivers to take part in the contest by “explaining in 1-2 sentences what being a truck driver means to them.” On September 1, a panel of experts will choose the top 12 submissions and during the week-long [Driver Appreciation event] consumers will be asked to vote for the best answer. Voting will take place from September 15-21, 2013 on both the Rudolph Foods and Southern Recipe Facebook pages and Rudolph Foods’ website.

Whoever gets the most votes wins, so drivers…start your engines of creativity.

Rudolph Foods is the world's largest manufacturer of pork rinds and is celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation by celebrating the spirit of the American truck driver. The campaign/competition is designed to pay tribute to truck drivers across America and recognize this hard working segment of our country â€“ who is responsible for transporting nearly all of the food to American consumers.

"Truck drivers are at the core of the Rudolph Foods Operation," said Mark Singleton, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Rudolph Foods. "Hearing from truck drivers will help all of us understand and appreciate, in a greater scope, what is meaningful to them. None of the foods produced land on our plates without truckers. This is our small way of saying thank you."
