ATRI Releases Report On E-Commerce

Earlier this week, the American Transportation Research Institute released an analysis concerning the impacts e-commerce trends have on the trucking industry.

According to the ATRI, e-commerce has impacted the trucking industry by way of more proliferate last mile deliveries and a greater volume of e-commerce sales over all.

Among other trends found within the report, an increase of ‘last minute fulfillment centers” made up 73 percent of the total industrial real estate market of 2017, an increase of 15% from the previous year.

Similarly, the ATRI reports an increase in the number of intra-regional and last-mile truck trips while reporting a decrease of overall length of haul.
