Averitt To Open New Nashville Facility, Offer More Customized Services

Earlier this week, Averitt Express announced the expansion of its supply chain service offerings by way of the introduction of Averitt Distribution and Fulfillment complimented with a distribution and fulfillment center in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to Averitt, the latest service from the company will provide customers with end-to-end logistics as well as inventory warehousing and management solutions.

“The launch of Averitt Distribution and Fulfillment comes at a time in our industry when shippers are increasingly seeking to place inventory closer to key markets and online shopping continues to drive up the demand for order fulfillment services,” said Wayne Spain, Averitt’s president and chief operating officer.

Averitt reports that the distribution and fulfillment center in Nashville is located next to the Nashville International Airport, on a grounds that is 93,000 square feet, accommodating a variety of shipping and delivery needs.

Sources at Averitt report that this latest location will be able to best address a diverse field of shippers and their needs and is the first of more centers like it.

“The first of many to come, our Nashville facility leverages the strength of our existing less-than-truckload and full load network to offer shippers a centralized distribution hub in the South,” said Eddie Adkins, director of Averitt Distribution and Fulfillment. “At the same time, we can handle the order fulfillment needs of the growing ecommerce marketspace that tend to move small parcel shipments to both business and residential locations.”
