Volvo Introduces Online Program to Design Custom Trucks

by Jake Tully - Published: 5/08/2018

Earlier this week, Volvo Trucks announced a new online-based program, an online configurator that allows customers and truck enthusiasts alike to create custom truck designs and specifications for their ideal Volvo Models.

By allowing users to build their dream Volvo models, Volvo reports that users can share their designs via social media or send designs directly to a Volvo Trucks dealer in order to receive more information.

Magnus Koeck, vice president of marketing and brand management for Volvo Trucks North America reports that the online tool is great to inspire enthusiasts and potential customers, but also provides a more fully-formed way manner in which a customer may visualize a Volvo truck.

“The Volvo Trucks online configurator gives customers and enthusiasts the opportunity to build their dream Volvo while learning more about the truck and its intended application,” said Koeck. “This is a great tool because it’s an engaging way to learn more about the new products and it provides a visual guide of what the VNR or VNL will look like before placing an order.”
Volvo reports that users of the online program can select several options when creating a truck such as truck series, cab size, truck exterior and interior and other specifications.

“This is an appealing tool that’s fun to use and a customer’s virtual configuration becomes a conversation starter with their local dealer,” said Johan Agebrand, director of product marketing for Volvo Trucks North America. “Custom configuring a new Volvo VNR or VNL model and sending to a dealer before visiting can also expedite the sales, spec’ing (sic) and order process.”

Interested parties may visit Volvo’s site in order to use the online configurator.
