Old Dominion Freight Line Opens Garland, Texas Service Center To Serve Growing Shipping Needs

In expanding its presence within the American trucking industry, Old Dominion Freight Line reports the opening of a new service center in Garland, Texas in order to keep up with what the company reports as an increase in demand for regional and statewide shipping.

The company reports that the Garland, Texas service center is the twentieth service center in Texas for Old Dominion trucking activity.

Chuck Powell, regional vice president of Old Dominion’s Gulf Coast region reports that the new service center in Texas is a direct result of industry demand and its strategic location will help the company continue to expand.

“The Garland location positions us closer to several existing markets, enabling us to be more flexible and responsive to deliver premium service to our customers every day,” said Powell.

“Even with 20 service centers across the state of Texas, we will continue to see opportunities for growth in the years ahead.”

According to Old Dominion, the new 102-door service center located at 2760 Marquis Drive, Garland, Texas, began operations on October 1of this year.

The company reports that this new service center was specifically engineered in order to act as the most efficient terminal within Old Dominion’s 228 service network.

According to Old Dominion, the facility in Garland will service several Dallas-adjacent municipalities including Corsicana, Mesquite, Plano, Sherman, and several others.

The service center is strategically located within a 24-acre site in order to provide access to four of the primary interstates that surround the Dallas-Fort Worth areas, with access to the Interstate-45, Interstate-20, Interstate-30 and Interstate-365, according to the company.

“Our prime location within this prominent distribution hub will aid in our mission to flourish regionally and nationally,” said Powell.

Additionally, the company reports that the new service center was accompanied by 35 new hires in order to run the facility.
