ArcBest Wins Payroll Award, Lauded For Overall Company Synergy

Fort Smith, Arkansas-based logistics company ArcBest announced earlier this week that it was the recipient of the 2017 Prism Award from the American Payroll Association (APA) for Best Practices.

ArcBest reports that the Prism awards are in place to recognize companies in the United States that are leaders in the payroll industry through means of innovative practices in process improvement, technology, performance and payroll management.

ArcBest chief human resources officer, Erin K. Gattis reports that the payroll department at the company has continually been working towards a more efficient and practical team within the human resources department.

“I am very pleased that our payroll department has been honored for working to improve our processes,” said E Gattis. “We have talented employees at ArcBest who live out our company values every day, and this team truly represents our spirit of collaboration and excellence.”

According to ArcBest, the award was granted to the company due to its efforts in using new practices at a management level and making a large-scale change from paper checks to direct deposit within the company.

To this end, ArcBest reports that last year saw the company increase their human resources presence by processing payroll for 12 companies across 27 states to processing payroll for six companies across 44 states.

Executive director of the APA, Dan Maddux reports that ArcBest’s commitment to payroll efficiency serves as a model for overall effectiveness and synergy within a company.

“ArcBest Corporation has implemented multiple processes within the organization to ensure its payroll department operates with accuracy and efficiency,” said Dan Maddux, executive director of the APA. “ArcBest stands as an example of how the payroll department can contribute vastly to the overall well-being of a successful company.”

According to the company, ArcBest received another Prism Award in 2015 for Technology In Payroll.
