Recent Study Shows Factors Contributing to Job Satisfaction For Drivers

While many trucking companies and fleets may attempt to court drivers to open job positions with promises of leading pay in the industry, a study conducted with data collected from OdinText shows that pay is not always the most important attribute for job seekers.

According to the study, both veteran drivers and new drivers expressed that a top concern for a job was the extent to which an employer had a “family-oriented” work culture.

The study also found that the second most important factor in job satisfaction was the home time one saw, while overall pay came in as the fifth most important element.

In conjunction with TruckersReport, the text analytics and machine learning software found from its collected data that 29.5% of drivers are dissatisfied with their job while 50.4% of truckers are satisfied with their current job.

In regards to factors that may indicate job dissatisfaction, the study found that the largest factors for drivers is carelessness displayed by a company, followed by dishonesty displayed by a company, rounded out by poor pay.
