Sources Say Tesla May Debut Semi At NACV

As summer nears its end and quarter three of the fiscal year comes to close, some sources are looking to Tesla as to when they may release their first foray into the semi truck industry with predictions that it may be released at an upcoming trucking industry show.

Some sources within the industry are predicting that Tesla’s first semi is likely to be unveiled at the at North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) show in Atlanta, Georgia on September 25th of this year.

According to Barron’s, sources including Morgan Stanley have reportedly offered that the NACV show in Atlanta may be the opportune time for Elon Musk and the team at Tesla to debut the new semi truck.

Additionally, some sources report that a reveal at the NACV may also entail a reveal of trucking companies potentially partnering with tesla, with FedEx, US Express, Ryder System and Schneider National as possible contenders, according to Morgan Stanley as reported by Barron’s.

Major financial sources in the country has prognosticated that while Tesla sees the commercial trucking market as good fit for the company’s vehicles, the entire endeavor may not be worth as large of a piece of the market as some authorities have predicated.

Furthermore, sources such as Morgan Stanley report that the market disruption alone may be worth the trouble for Tesla to debut the semi trucks.

Tesla has made no official announcement to unveil new equipment at NACV 2017.
