Kansas Freight Company Named Among Fastest Growing U.S. Companies
by Jake Tully - Published: 9/05/2017With a recent accolade in regards to fast business growth and attention from Inc. Magazine, Tallgrass Freight’s latest distinction may make the company feel as though it isn’t in Kansas anymore.
According to a new list published by Inc. Magazine, Shawnee, Kanas- based logistics company, Tallgrass Freight made the list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in America.
Ranking at number 409 on Inc. Magazine’s list, Tallgrass freight reports that it has seen a growth of 1,066 percent in the past three years, also garnering a position as the 22nd fastest growing logistics company and the third fastest-growing company in Kansas.

Damon Anderson, Tallgrass Freight co-owner and founder reported that the inclusion on Inc. Magazine’s list is due to a concerted force of internal efforts.
“We’re incredibly honored to be included on the Inc. 500 list for the very first time,” said Anderson. “Our team at Tallgrass Freight has always gone above and beyond, and this amazing achievement validates just that. We’re proud to represent Shawnee, Kansas and have our vendors, staff and our agents to thank for our success.”
Tallgrass Freight reports that in 2016 the company saw its revenue doubled as well as expansion in both the company’s Agent Program and staff.
In regards to what they future may hold for Tallgrass Freight, David Barnes, COO and co-owner reported that the growth of the Agent program at the company as well as technological advances may prove to be most beneficial for the freight company to continue an upwards trajectory.
“We are tremendously excited for the growth of our Agent program,” Said Barnes. “So far in 2017, we have added over 18 new agents in 4 states and Canada. With the significant investments in our technology platform, we are well equipped to be over 100 agents by the end of 2018 and look forward to being honored on the Inc 500 list for the next several years.
