Attention all Major League Baseball fans – Old Dominion Freight Lines reports a unique addition to the age-old American tradition – combining the industry of trucking with home plate this summer.

In an announcement issued earlier today, Old Dominion Freight Lines reports that the trucking company has unveiled the “OD Seats to the World Series” with a custom-made “clear” trailer in which baseballs will be visible freight to spectators.

As an Official Freight Carrier of the MLB, Old Dominion Freight Lines will reportedly be granting a pair of World Series tickets to the individual who can issue the closest guess to the number of baseball in the clear trailer.

David Carter, Old Dominion’s vice president of marketing communications reports that the marketing initiative arrives in time for MLB’s All-Star Week festivities as well as the upcoming MLB World Series in October.

Old Dominion Freight Lines reports that the custom baseball trailer will begin a tour across the country, with its first stop in Miami, Florida on July 12.

According to Old Dominion Freight Lines, the tour of the truck will run throughout August, making stops at seven MLB Clubs across the country including the New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals, all teams that the trucking company sponsors.

“The ‘OD Seats to the World Series’ tour allows us to connect with fans across the country, and introduce the Old Dominion brand to logistics and freight managers and baseball fans,” said Carter. “We’re thrilled to be the first carrier to create and showcase an innovative trailer that celebrates our connection with America’s pastime.”

Retired Major League Baseball players Dave Winfield, Tim Raines and Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez will reportedly also appear at the Old Dominion Fan Fest at the first stop in Miami this July.
